The sub-division
I went to was newly created, therefore we start everything from the scratch.
There were total 4 sub-division and I was in 3rd sub-division. For 3
years, we were having so much fun at work and after work. Almost every Friday,
we will hang out together including the boss QYL, for dinner, karaoke or drinks.
Credits to Cindy, Alan, Benjamin, Jackie, HF, Jenny, XY, Ellie, PeiPei, Ong and
DC for giving me good memories during my stay there and sometime I miss the happy
moments.
Mdm Lau is the
head of department. She despise on people if that person don’t curry her
favours or she can’t gain any benefit from that person. There was a staff that
went to ministry to serve the MP(Member of Parliament) as secretary, she
specially send a flower bouquet to wish her. Why? Is because by doing so, the
MP will know she is such a great boss and will add points to her career path. If
staffs work does not meet her requirement, she will scold them like hell. She
wants everything to be perfect but have she ever look at herself whether is she
perfect. Once you given her the bad impression, you can forget about getting
promotion. Worse, you know you have no hope for promotion and requested for a
transfer, she will not approve. You only have 2 choices, either you ask union
to step in or you resign. Her karma finally arrive after the CEO has change. I
love and respect CEO Dr C so much. Dr C challenge her, why is there a need to
create this department which is a waste of resources. Dr C expect her to prove
that this department should carry on otherwise she can anytime dissolve it.
Mr C is the big
boss overseeing the division and is capable in his work. The bad points of him
is, if anyone curry his favours he will promote that person very fast, even if
that person is damn lousy at work. He will only realised that person poor
working performance when things goes wrong. Everyday he will ask Linda, the admin
supervisor to buy lunch for him, he don’t like to go buy lunch on his own. He
will not be reached after 4.30pm, as he had already leave the office. His
working time should be 8am to 5.30pm. He has a soft ear and never get the full
story before jumping to conclusions. He will set his mind set according to what
the person had told him. It is very unfair for those capable staffs, as they
are unable to promote because of his soft ear and those stupid rumours.
QYL is my boss,
and the only boss I dare to bicker with. He was promoted to be heading 3rd
sub-division. His work performance is average only, but was promoted as he was
closed to big boss. He is a nice boss but has a very soft ear. The division is
destroy by his soft ear, KF and KK. 1 year later, he employed another admin
staff Benjamin. He like Benjamin so much until everyone determine he is a gay.
He likes talking to Benjamin, as he feel Benjamin lends him a good listening
ear and is mature in thinking. He likes to be close to Benjamin and frequently
gives him a massage. There was a year the division organised a chalet and both
of them slept in the same room. The next day, everyone jokingly asked Benjamin
is he ok and does he hurt. He will often asked us to arrange for a hang out
after work as we enjoyed each other accompany. QYL will always side Benjamin
and I when KK is unhappy with us, I really appreciated he stand by us because
KK is really unreasonable.
Linda is rich
as she heir the will from her parents. Although she is rich but she is not
arrogant at all. She came to work just to kill time. Her work performance is
average but if you want her to produce something she can do it with others
help. If Linda was my supervisor, I will not resigned from my comfort zone, as
she will protects her staffs if anyone bully them. The only person she hate
most is KK.
Alan and Cindy
are the first couple founded in the division. Its love at first sight for Alan
but Cindy had a boyfriend of 7 years. Cindy broke off due to some reasons and
partly because she had fallen in love with Alan. We have so much fun teasing
them and helping them start their relationship. Who knows actually they had
started the underground relationship, they did not announce as they were afraid
of being transfer to another department. I envy this couple as both of them are
nice person and till now we are still contacting each other and we meet up
regularly. They finally got married in year 2014 after 5 years of underground
relationship.
PP and Jeremy were
my managers before re-shuffle to other division. At that point of time, PP was
married and Jeremy is single and handsome. Jeremy have lots of admirer and he
often gives wrong signal to ladies. Both of them were very close and will hang
out almost every-day after work. Nobody find it strange until KF told us,
Jeremy admitted that he had an affair with PP, they had kissed and make out in
the car. Both of them fall out as Jeremy don’t agree PP to divorce with her
husband, as he is not confident in the marriage.
Jeremy became
close to KF and told her everything after he and PP fall out. They were so
closed until we suspect he tried KF breast milk when he told us he tasted it before.
When he realised KF had been spreading around about he and PP, he kept a
distance from her, but it’s too late. KF love for him had become hate and she is
slowly destroying his career. Jeremy did not get any promotion until year 2015.
PP divorced in year 2009, shortly after giving birth as she found out her
husband had an affair.
KF a scheming
lady was pregnant with her second child when she came to the division. She fell
in love with Jeremy although she is married. She likes to share with us her
love life with her husband. She told us her husband is a teacher and his job is
very stressful. They hardly had sex life and she was dry. The word dry became a
sensitive word in the division (Jeremy spread it). A few of the colleagues had
flowers pots in the office, whenever they were not in the office for few days,
they will ask for help and said, “Can help me water the plants, otherwise they will
feel “dry”. She told us she had a wide range of porn movie and sex toys at
home. There are lots of disgusting story she told us about her love life and I
will not mention more.
Every 4 years,
the managers will be re-shuffle. KF and PP were arch-enemy, they were arranged
to be in the newly created 4th sub-division doing financial matters,
and worse they had to buddy each other. Both went to Mr C to request for a
change as they don’t want to work together. Mr C scolded PP and side KF, PP
cried as it’s so unfair to her. PP was not promoted when it’s due, she
requested for transfer a few times and was rejected. She can’t resigned as she
had to support her son, therefore she had no choice and asked the union to step
in to help her transfer.
KF and KK are
very close. She knew KK brother-in-law holds a very high position overseeing our
organisation, so she had to curry favour. She sold her flat to KK below the
valuation and only collected $3000 of cash deposit from her (deposit can be
higher to earn profits selling the flat).
KF is expert in
currying boss favours and sweet talk. She will often buy coffee and snacks for
them. She will be Mr C chauffeur whenever there is any event after work. She
was promoted to senior grade shortly, but Mr C regretted as he realised she
can’t work at all. Her work is in a big mess, because she don’t understand what
the bosses wants. She is great in disguising herself that she can’t work, but
this don’t last long. Now she is consider in cold palace and no bosses dare to
give her any responsibilities.
When Jenny came
to our division, her position is already senior grade and this make KF very
jealous. Jenny can’t work at all, she is lucky she has a group of support
staffs who will assist her. She is very slow in learning and not willingly to
learn, as she always relay on others. Works that had taught her so many times,
she still can’t remember, worse she even wrote down in her note book. As time
goes by, the support staffs are fed-up with her as she is always making people
do unnecessary work. She ever hold me back a few times to help do her
presentation slides till 8pm and then accompany her for dinner, in the end the
presentation slides were not used at all.
She came to
this organisation because of HF. Her love for HF started way back when they
were at their previous company. She like to boast around that they ever travel
alone and slept in the same room together. HF doesn’t like her at all, and
leave the company after he was frame by her. HF went to China to work and she
will message him everyday, He slowly drift away from her, when he finally
realised she like him. She is lonely, always looking for people to accompany
her to go out and for meal. She has no sense of time, forever late. Whenever,
we arranged to meet for shopping or dinner, she is sure to be late for an hour
plus.
She shared with
me her scary find out when she visited a fortune teller in Malaysia. She
visited the master as her career was not smooth and need advice. The master told
her she was being spell by a cast. He described the person and asked Jenny
whether she ate any food given by her, as the food was being spell by the black
magic. The master said KF natural self is not evil, it’s a pity she choose this
kind of route due to her jealousy. The master helped to get rid of it and
reminded her not to eat any food given by her. She bought a pendant worth of
5000 Singapore dollars from the master which said to have the 5 elements to protect
her. 1 month later, she went back to visit the master, when she entered the
hall, the master told her to go into his room and asked for the pendant. The
centre piece had cracked and the pendant was very dark. He told her KF was
trying to cast another spell on her, but she was lucky as the pendant had
protected her from the evil.
Shivonne was
the head of 4th sub-division, one of the worst and ridiculous leader
I ever came across, we called her mad dog. She is so arrogant and abuse her
rights as a division head. She will anyhow scold and create trouble to staffs
at other sub-division, siding only her own staffs. June is her spy, both of
them will monitor what the staffs are doing and will make nasty comments during
the bosses meeting. I had a low cabinet placed at the side of my workstation
ever since I joined, there were no issue of blocking the pathway. From the day
she came, she was not happy that I have a big area and demand me to remove it
otherwise she will raise it at the bosses meeting. My lunch click console me,
they said those trouble creator are too fat so the cabinet had blocked their
way when they collect their printouts. She is a divorcee, only had registered
her marriage(legally husband and wife) but did not held any traditional
marriage. This might be the cause of her mental problem. Shortly after I left
the organisation, she was transferred to another division, which she had to
liaise with influence people. She made a huge mistake that had to tender her
resignation, but Mdm Lau uses her power to keep the matter low because if she
tender Mdm Lau has no face. Ever since the huge mistake, she had no choice but
to tone down and in cold palace now.
June her spy,
another weird girl. Everyday she will disinfect her workstation by spraying
half bottle of Dettol. She said she used to doing disinfection as her previous
job is in laboratory and she had to keep herself clean. She will monitor what
you are doing whenever she walked past the workstation. She has no manners and her
upbringings is bad. If she don’t like any scent, she will pinch her nose in
front of you and give you a disgusting look. Her mum committed suicide and some
managers who had no choice but to attend the wake told us that it’s so strange
that she don’t feel anything at all. About 4 months later, a few of us saw her
dad fetch her to work and in the car there is a young lady beside her dad.
Few years later,
she got herself a boyfriend, he is a scholar with good reputation. He asked
around whether is it true that she is a clean freak because he went to her room
and it’s in a big mess. She wanted to get married and keep pestering the guy,
but he just bought an apartment and was financially tight. She dare not pester
him as she was afraid the guy will find her irritating and broke off with her.
She is quite smart in capturing the guy, she knows how to please him to
maintain the relationship.
Eugene the
eunuch, because he is always following behind Mr C and Shivonne. His curry
favours skills is consider as expert level. Everyday he will buy Starbucks
coffee for Shivonne and curry favours. When Mr C steps into the office, he will
follow behind him and said how challenging his job is and how he loves his job.
He got promoted in just 2 years, and of course after promotion Mr C then find
out he can’t work at all.
Evelyn the
weird auntie. She requested for transfer from 1st sub-division, as
she can’t handle the work stress. She is late for work everyday, she will start
running to office once the train door opens. Once she settled down, she will take
her cups and flask to the pantry. She will placed the cups/flask under the hot
water dispenser, press down the knot to wash it over and over again, this
result the hot water to splash everywhere and people near her will get splash by
it. The pantry will become a sauna after 1 hours plus of washing and you will know
she was there earlier.
After washing,
she will wear a pair of disposable gloves to the toilet and spent few hours
there, we were left with 1 cubicles as there are only 2 cubicles. This happened
in the morning and after lunch. We are not sure what she is doing inside,
people do suggest us to climb up and find out. After toilet, she will carry her
green recycle bag to do despatch, it will not take long as she just need to
take lift to another floor, but she can be gone for hours. Later we found out,
after doing her despatch she will loiter around the office area. Her behaviour
had irritated QYL, he confront her and she had so many excuses. QYL threaten
her to submit her resignation letter if she continues to do all these. QYL had
to do a time table to monitor her whereabouts and work.
She is not good
with computer and software. One of her job was to print out the photos in Adobe
format. She will said out every words that the computer had prompt her. For
example, “Do you want to delete the photos?”, she will repeat the sentence 2 to
3 times and even will said “Ok” while entering. She will go home after 7-8pm
and pretends she had lots of work to do but actually she was printing her
personal things and loitering around the office area. Her performance score was
poor, therefore she was not allowed to continue to work after her retirement.
She did ask union for help, but the bosses rejected as they wanted to get a new
staff who can work. She retired in year 2014.
Stella another
trouble marker that joins at a later part. She like to boost how loving she and
her husband is and will bring her to overseas every year. She is trying to control
all the technical officers as she wanted to be their supervisor. She gang up
with KF and Joyce, creating politics in the office. Joyce resigned to further
her studies and KF was re-shuffle to another sub-division, so she turns to Sul,
her only friend. Both of them created more politics too and were in good terms
and often travel together, but the relationship turns sour in year 2015. Stella
was divorced as her husband requested for it. She knew her husband had an
affair but she turns a blind eyes as she needs the money as her husband was
rich. Her husband turn harsh on her, and demand her to settle the apartment in
Malaysia as soon as possible as he did not want to contact with her anymore.
She asked Sul for help as Sul was familiar with Malaysia. They arranged a day
to go into Malaysia to settle, but she did not plans anything and do not know
what to do after they reach Malaysia. Sul scolded her for wasting her time and
leave, therefore the relationship turns sour. Stella has lost her only friend
and her husband. She was lost in life and lucky now she managed to open up
after getting to know Buddhism.
KK the lunatic
woman. This woman is the worse person I ever encounter in my working life. She
has depression long ago, due to no treatment her mind is not good. She has been
working in the organisation for more than 20 years. She totally can’t work at
all and has a backer, therefore she can laze and talk big. Her brother in law
holds a very high position overseeing our organisation.
I didn’t sense
anything wrong when I joined. She loves to talk, boast and exaggeration, none
of her words can be trust. She told me when she was just married, she do not
know how to intimate with her husband and was scared when night falls and will
hid in one corner. Her sister brought her to consult specialist and successful
did her part as a wife. After she got pregnant with her daughter, they no
longer sleep together and was just husband and wife in name. Her husband was
working in a stock company and lose huge amount of money while investing on
stock and this happened a few times, she had no choice but to borrow money from
her siblings to tide over. Both of them do not have any saving, when their
apartment was under redevelopment plan, they had to downgrade to HDB flat and
was lucky to purchase a cheaper flat from KF. Her daughter is her life,
satisfying her whenever possible.
She likes to
brush her hair with her hands. She does not shave her armpits, so whenever she
brush you will see a branch of hairy. There were a few times people likes to
ask, why we set the office air-con to so cold as her nipples can be seen(air-con
is centralised and we can’t set the temperature). To avoid further
embarrassment, we told KF to advise her to buy a better bra. She like to boast that
the guy woo her before, whenever she bump into her male friends. We are sick
and tired of it and will joke whenever she talks to any guy(young or old) that
this guy woo her before and their eyes got stamp(view being block and can’t see
clearly).
As our
sub-division is new, we had to trial and error. Whenever, I suggest to her how
the work should be done, she will reject. But after 1 week, she will tell me
how to do and it’s what I had mentioned earlier. I was so fed up but what can I
said as she is the supervisor. Everything got worse, after Benjamin and KF
joined. She’s always in KF cubicles spending few hours gossiping and creating
trouble for the others. The harmony in the sub-division was destroy by them. She
is jealous QYL dotes on Benjamin and me, she always complained to KF saying
that QYL only listens to Benjamin and me. Of course QYL listened to us, as we
were giving good suggestions on how to improve our works. Works were going
smoothly and professionally as the external companies accepted the end results.
She will start acting
in her own drama whenever she wants to grab people’s action. There was one
scene, she fell off from her chair and the chair has arm rest attached to it.
She was grabbing QYL attention as he was on cold war with her. Second scene,
she purposely vomited so loudly just to grab Khew attention so that he can concern
about her. We suspected she likes Khew but he’s married and loves his family.
KK jealousy
caused her to have mental breakdown. That day was our sub-division second outing,
Benjamin reported straight at the chalet to prepare and I took leave as I did
not want to join. Her mental problem tells her to create trouble for both of us
again. She complained to QYL that both of us should be in office and he should
not pamper us. QYL side us again and she broke down. She screamed, cry loudly
and acting like she got an heart attack to gain QYL attention, but as this was her
second time doing this action QYL ignored her. She did the same drama few years
ago in another department because the lady was being liked by the new boss and
the new boss hates her. Her drama continued at the lift lobby, other staffs was
scared by her action and called the ambulance. She made a scene again while
being carried away to the ambulance. She was not shameful at all and came back
to work immediately after the drama and pretend nothing happens. Her sister called
to find out what happen, KF suggested to her sister to bring her consult doctor
but her sister felt nothing is wrong with her. Why can’t their family admit
that there is something wrong with KK mental?
KF told me to
apologise to KK, I rejected as I did nothing wrong and I don’t care whether she
has a backer. Benjamin has a backer too, his aunt is a higher management staff
in HR, therefore KF dare not ask him to apologise. I do not have a backer does
not mean I can be bully. I was so grievances as KF keeping pestering me to
apologise when I did nothing wrong and I broke down. I hide at the staircase
landing crying like hell. QYL talked to me and know KF is wrong in handling the
problem. He discussed with Mr C to transfer KK. The other sub-division rejected
her to be in their division, therefore Mr C had no choice but to place her as
his secretary, which his position does not required one. After being Mr C
secretary, she sabotage people by telling Mr C how bad the person is, which is
not true.
I cried twice
at this department due to grievances and KK. The first time I cried, I had to
take half day leave home. My tears keep flowing in the taxi and the uncle was
nice to keep quiet and let me be. When I reached home, I scared my parents as
it was their first time seeing me crying back home from the office. I’m really
sick and tired of all these nonsense and requested for transfer but was
rejected, therefore I resigned after spending 11 years in H government agency.
Now she is
getting high salary of $4k per month doing simple job. Her daily routine is reading
all the English and Chinese newspapers, buy coffee 3 times a day for Mr C and
bosses and buy lunch for Mr C. You can’t find any company with such good offer.
Worse, with this simple job Mdm Lau and Mr C still promoted her to senior
grade. This is so unfair to those capable staffs, just because she has a
backer. Mr C will be retiring this year and Mr R will be taking over. From what
I understand from my colleagues whom are still working there, Mr R does not buy
it. He rejected KK when she offers to help him buy coffee daily. I’m waiting
how KK going to survive after Mr C retires and how Mr R going to handle this kind
of useless staff. I always believe in karma, so don’t do bad things.
This department
turnover rate is very high, blame it on the bosses leadership. They can’t
retain good staffs and majority that are still there can’t work at all. The
department get worsen after I leave and it’s full of politics.
